Operations Financial Manager Jobs

The Finance Manager’s key areas of involvement include:

Five (5) to seven (7) years’ recent related financial accounting experience in a large, complex healthcare environment

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio would be an asset

1-3 years derivative accounting/valuation experience, including hedge accounting, with sound technical knowledge

Prepare hedge accounting documentation and effectiveness testing, ensuring full compliance with IAS 39 and IFRS 9 disclosure requirements

Manage settlements for security transactions, including swap payments and receipts

University/post-graduation education in Accounting, Commerce, or Business.

10+ years of experience at financial institutions including 3 years with an accounting firm having worked with clients from financial institutions

3+ years’ experience in management, preference will be given to senior management experience

Strong time-management skills and a proven track record of delivering quality results, with attention to details

Excellent organizational and strategic and project management skills

Budget planning and financial management skills

Strong organizational and presentation skills including demonstrated experience in writing business documentation

Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, cost benefit analysis and related analytical techniques.

Coordinates and develops operational unit budgets, in association with Business Leaders and Managers, including:

Providing user input regarding system, information and reporting requirements;

Completion of Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution.

Three (3) years directly related relevant experience.

At least five (5) years of progressive management experience in municipal finance.

Provide Norfolk County with financial policies and processes to ensure effective management and control of Norfolk County's financial assets

Manage a staff complement of union staff including the human resource functions i.e. recruitment, performance management and coaching.

Knowledge of legal requirements for financial reporting purposes.

Respond to all other external audit requirements, up to and including federal and provincial ministries

Develop and manage a comprehensive program for internal financial controls.

Bachelor in Accounting / Any international accounting qualification like ACCA, Chartered Accountant, Certified Management Accountant

A minimum of 2-3 years of job-related work experience.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Commonly used formulas)

Experience with any major ERP / Accounting software.

Review of Squirrel POS system to ensure recording and reporting of sales is correct.

Prepare quarterly and annual financial and management discussion and analysis reports and supporting financial schedules.

Experience reviewing business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions

Evaluate business and system processes, identify opportunities for improvement, document & communicate business requirements, and implement initiatives.

Effectively lead and manage projects at the divisional level as assigned.

Minimum 5 years of financial reporting and business analysis experience

Experience in change management and participating in the leadership of cultural shifts and transitions;

Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree, in a field such as finance, commerce or business administration.

Experience in the application and interpretation of the legislative instruments, rules, policies, guidelines, allowances, privileges, manuals, etc.;

Experience in resolving complex problems and issues related to accounting operations;

Experience in creating and fostering a client-focused environment that supports the delivery of high-quality financial operations/services.

Researches and writes reports for various business unit management including statistical and data detail, including:
