Job Summary And Requirements

Reporting to the Financial Administrator, the Financial Operations Clerk is responsible for providing a variety of financial services to the Department of Justice including financial reporting, accounts payable, revenue and expense recovery while maintaining appropriate internal controls. This position is also responsible for assisting in coordination and compiling the departmental budgets.

Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the following qualifications. Please note selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
  • Post-secondary course work in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience using YG Financial Systems such as Quest, FIRM and Front End will be considered an asset
  • Experience in the application of policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Experience in financial data collection, input, and in-depth financial analysis for use by senior management
  • Considerable experience providing financial support such as accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reconciliations
Candidates who have training and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

Candidates should have and may be assessed on:
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, client work units and private sector vendors
  • Excellent time management skills, including the ability to take direction from multiple sources
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy, balance competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload
