5+ years’ related experience in health claims management

Post secondary diploma in social work, medical science, risk management or communications.

Advanced understanding of claims management processes and objectives from inception to resolution cycles.

Assess claims for benefit entitlement by reviewing legislative, medical, functional, and occupational information.

Other duties as directed by the Senior Manager, Total Rewards.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Ensures the timely, effective and efficient management of benefits, programs and services to stakeholders of the system in a cost-effective manner.

Keeps abreast of current relevant WorkplaceNL information and trends to ensure appropriate and effective management and continuous improvement of assigned areas.

This position requires strong analytical, interpretive and leadership abilities combined with strong communication skills.

Past experience and demonstrated ability in effectively managing people and multiple projects is an asset.

Ensures the highest level of customer service by promoting a quality service-oriented approach in the provision of services to clients.

Develops, monitors and implements appropriate programs and services that will aid decision-makers in fulfilling their objectives.

Degree in a discipline related to vocational rehabilitation/rehabilitation counseling or experience in disability management as a licensed health care provider

Five to seven years’ experience in the insurance rehabilitation or the field of disability management

Proven leadership skills (relationship building, adaptability, decision making, conflict management, delegation, critical thinking)

Provide active leadership, coaching and performance management to the Rehabilitation Referral Consultants and Gainful Employment Specialists

Act as a technical expert to the team on disability management issues

Communicate to the Rehabilitation Referral Consultants regarding new initiatives affecting the Disability Intervention Services and Disability Management Service organizations.

2-3 years of experience handling full cycle disability management

Determining if accommodations are required by coordinating with management, employee(s), and third party vendors

Experience working in an unionized environment and working knowledge of Collective Agreement

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to be highly flexible and adaptable to manage multiple complex issues independently and competing priorities simultaneously

Knowledge of Provincial Labour Legislation, Human Rights Codes, AODA, Labour Relations, Worker's Compensation, and Health & Safety Guidelines

Work Experience: 1 to 3 years relevant experience. Background in a health-related field or case management would be an asset.

Accountability and responsibility to ensure that the management of required tasks within the assigned case load meets all service level standards.

Effective and consistent use of an electronic case management system (Fineos).

Strong organization and prioritization skills required to manage different type of tasks

Strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities and can work with minimum supervision.

Experience and knowledge of managing files related to mental health.

8+ years of experience as Product Manager in Insurance space with focus on claims

Manage schedule, risks and budget of product delivery

Manage a product backlog, work with BAs and help define users stories and epics in Jira/Confluence

Proven experience in product design

Define roadmaps and features for various Insurance products

Lead a multidisciplinary Agile team with a Scrum Master to execute on defined roadmap.

Responsible for assisting in the timely management of Creditor Disability Claims

Proven exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage several tasks at the same time

Responsible for accurate and timely benefit payment calculations

Responsible for accurate and timely data entry

Proven exceptional communication (written/verbal) skills

Post-secondary education in health or business administration

Produce monthly scorecard to publish to Regional Senior Management

Escalate claims awareness to Senior Management as outlined in company policies

Knowledge and experience with Claims Handling Process.
