5+ years’ related experience in health claims management

Post secondary diploma in social work, medical science, risk management or communications.

Advanced understanding of claims management processes and objectives from inception to resolution cycles.

Assess claims for benefit entitlement by reviewing legislative, medical, functional, and occupational information.

Work Experience: 1 to 3 years relevant experience. Background in a health-related field or case management would be an asset.

Effective and consistent use of an electronic case management system (Fineos).

Strong organization and prioritization skills required to manage different type of tasks

Strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities and can work with minimum supervision.

Experience and knowledge of managing files related to mental health.

Administrative work, setting up long-term disability claims, 100% remote open to Ontario province and Nova Scotia province.

Manage a large caseload of disability claims

Excellent communication skills in French & English (written and spoken)

Assess business operations and potential risks, actively participating in the development of risk management strategies, policies, processes, and programs.

Provide expert advice and counsel to senior management on various risk management issues and their implications.

Conduct thorough evaluations of insurance requirements and present comprehensive options for consideration.

Education and skills acquired at post-secondary level or equivalent education with over 4 years work experience

Strong organization and time management skills

Provide office measurement support to the Regional Manager in areas of work volumes, productivity and financial management

Manage the overall financial accountability for all disability benefit calculations, payments, and claim reserve calculations performed by the team

Hiring and performance management of direct reports including coaching and staff development

Collection and analysis of data required to ensure effective operational management of the office

Knowledge in life insurance and experience in life and disability claims management would be an asset.

Experience related to disability claims management is preferred.

Plan, implement and evaluate sound case management principles.

Knowledge of the insurance benefit industry is considered an asset.

Must possess excellent knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience or knowledge with Fineos is an asset.

Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management, and/or finance

Experience in capital projects management, construction claims and critical path method (CPM) scheduling experience.

Oversee processes for the successful execution and management of large capital projects

You'll gain experience in communication and presentation skills

3 years experience in the construction industry or a related profession

Excellent communication (written and verbal), mathematical, and organizational skills

Provide recommendations to managers to drive operational excellence, and indemnity control

Provide coaching on technical and professional skills for staff and facilitate continuous learning as Subject Matter Expert

Identify training opportunities and support technical skill development of the teams.

Other duties as assigned. May engage in special projects to improve overall claims technical knowledge in the Property COE.

10 years or more property claims experience, including handling of complex and large losses.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computer tools

Ten years of relevant experience with Accident Benefits Claims.

Experience and or knowledge of Alternate Dispute Resolution.

University degree or equivalent work experience.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Determine key measures to monitor service levels and effectiveness of Claims personnel.

Lead the development of technical claims training programs by assessing needs, developing content, and making recommendations.

Responsible for assisting in the timely management of Creditor Disability Claims

Proven exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage several tasks at the same time

Responsible for accurate and timely benefit payment calculations

Responsible for accurate and timely data entry

Proven exceptional communication (written/verbal) skills

Post-secondary education in health or business administration

Preparing reports on claims disputes for management review and guidance

Providing general guidance and support to the Claims Management Team as required and approved by the Regional Claims Manager

Maintaining accurate time management records for billing purposes

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

Minimum 5 to 8 years of claims handling experience in the property/casualty sector is required

General insurance experience is an asset

Maintain up to date case management notes within online file management system.
