Damco Distribution Canada Inc. handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages payroll of the department, ensures premium rates and overtime are entered accurately and able to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Plans inbound and outbound schedules accordingly to meet customer metrics.
  • Reviews inbound appointment log and open order report each day, to plan work activities.
  • Advises employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing.
  • Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions.
  • Determines staffing needs based on workload and schedules staff accordingly.
  • Reviews and updates operational procedures as necessary and ensures they are communicated to and understood by the warehouse associates.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Tracks productivity and qualifies performance by individual, function, and department.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
  • Works with Inventory Control to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy possible.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Appraising employee performance; assist with annual performance appraisal feedback.
  • Directly supervises 50+ employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies
  • Applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work.
  • Disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Education and/or experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED
  • 1-3 months related experience and or combination of education and experience
