Some of the Duties & Responsibilities include.

·Perform driver interview road tests following a specific guideline to measure qualifications.

·Supervise 20+ drivers between two locations (Burlington & St. Catharines)

Oversee fleet maintenance, managing uptime.

Coach and motivate driver performance, in consultation with Director of Operations and HR

·New driver training and on-boarding

3+ years leadership / management experience with 10-15+ direct reports

Deal with performance issues and consult with HR / Management guidance for complex issues

Managerial / direct experience with distribution centre processes required (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, returns, value added processing and sub-assembly);

Support Warehouse Manager in following financial obligations

Oversee all warehouse services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met

In collaboration with Distribution Manager, keep warehouse supplies stocked and re-order when needed using cost-saving methods when available

Prepares required operating reports for client and management staff

Participates in and advises management regarding labour relations strategies and relationships

Knowledge of client and service performance requirements

Ensures adherence to the preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles in the fleet as outlined by company and client requirements

Identifies, selects, trains, coaches and manages the performance of Transit Operators

Communicates clearly each staff member’s roles and responsibilities and provides support to help staff accomplish assigned objectives

Manage domiciled and surge equipment requirements, including rental units

Facilitate daily communication and issue management with customers, drivers and staff

Generate KPI reports and issue to management as required

Manage and enforce PPE and uniform requirements of drivers.

Minimum of 2+ years in a management, supervisory, or lead capacity, preferably in the transportation, logistics, or warehousing industry.

Manage customer schedules as requested

Supervise, manage and mentor employees

Manage daily preventative maintenance programs on all equipment and liaise with maintenance department regarding any equipment failures, damage etc.

Post-secondary education in an Operations Program is an asset

Minimum of 3 - 5 years of "hands on" supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing or metal recycling facility

Contract management, contractor supervision, liaison with government officials and coordination with planning and silviculture

Ensure that production, quality, environmental and legal requirements are met in a safe and cost effective manner

Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Prior experience in logging and hauling would be an asset

The Supervisor will have a minimum 5 years of relevant experience
