Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC handles end-to-end warehousing and distribution logistics needs utilizing our strategic network of storage facilities. Our facilities are capable of receiving, storing, processing and dispatching cargo, so we can build flexibility and resilience into the supply chain process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with Inventory Control to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy possible.
- Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
- Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed.
- Reviews and updates operational procedures as necessary and ensures they are communicated to and understood by the warehouse associates.
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions.
- Determines staffing needs based on workload and schedules staff accordingly.
- Manages payroll of the department, ensures premium rates and overtime are entered accurately and able to meet payroll deadlines.
- Advises employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing.
- Tracks productivity and qualifies performance by individual, function, and department.
- Reviews inbound appointment log and open order report each day, to plan work activities.
- Plans inbound and outbound schedules accordingly to meet customer metrics.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work.
- Directly supervises 50+ employees.
- Appraising employee performance; assist with annual performance appraisal feedback.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies
Education and/or experience
- 1-3 months related experience and or combination of education and experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED
