Vice President Of Finance

Overview:

The VP, Finance will have excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail. You will be a trusted advisor to the CEO and the rest of the leadership team and will manage a small finance team.

Responsibilities:

-Manage a small but strong team of Finance professionals

-Oversee all financial-related matters including, development and implementation of accounting procedures and policies

-Create financial plans and manage budget as directed by CEO and board of directors

Review monthly internal financial statements with variance comparison to budget, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards

-Direct all aspects of accounting operations such as receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting

-Distribute and manage communication of financial statements to board of directors and investors

-Review balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by financial analyst

-Manage day-to-day cash, including banking relationships, cash flow forecasting and cash flow analysis

-Oversee SR&ED process, including tracking, calculations, analysis and filing

-Manage corporate tax filing with external accounting firm support

-Manage the company’s external audit and tax relationships

-Support CEO with closing investments and updating legal documents, including disclosure schedules and subscription agreements

-Handle the annual renewal of company insurance programs

-Liaise with sales and operations to support business activities, including coordination of inventory management

-Miscellaneous filings and reports (e.g. annual filings, export filings, provincial statistical filings)

-Ensure company compliance with local and federal regulations

-Track employee options, calculate annual stock option expense and manage capitalization table

Requirements:

-A strong background in Accounting, ideally from experience in a large firm

-Experience leading a Finance department in a SaaS company

-Comfortable preparing documents and presenting to a Board of Directors

-Proven ability to coach and mentor your team
