WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a highly motivated and driven finance professional to lead our finance team. The VP of Finance serves as a financial advisor to the executive team for strategic planning, and business partners with other key business functions. Oversees and directs the organization's finances, makes forecasts, analyses data and protects the company from financial risk. Leads the financial and accounting teams and oversees their professional development.
DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Managing all elements of accounting operations; payables, receivables, payroll, taxes, cashflow management and financial reporting.
- Devising strategies to create cost efficiencies and savings to maximize profitability.
- Be knowledgeable about the latest and emerging macroeconomic and financial trends, and overall best practices to optimize company finances.
- Overseeing the company’s performance to revenue goals.
- Developing a financial scorecard with key performance indicators (KPIs) tracked and regularly reported to senior leadership team.
- Creating, implementing and leading company budgeting processes (e.g., top-down budget targets with CEO, bottom-up budget targets with senior leaders) – and communicating final budget to banks, investors, and senior leadership.
- Creating annual, quarterly and monthly reports of company finances (budget, actuals, forecast).
- Manage the insurance coverage for the organization, ensuring compliance.
- Ensuring data accuracy in reports.
- Monitoring all financial transactions company-wide, developing appropriate tracking and financial control methods for revenue and expenses.
- Leading the company audit with external auditors.
- Business partnering with senior leaders to ensure they understand their respective P&L or cost centers and what levers they can use to improve profitability.
- Setting financial goals and strategies on how to achieve profit improvement initiatives.
- Automating of reporting systems for accounting and finance to create efficiencies.
- Overseeing payroll and tax.
- Creating accounting standards, processes and procedures.
- Advising the business on optimal financing strategies and negotiating loans and credit arrangements with banks.
- Gathering data to analyze financial trends and update financial forecasts.
- Oversee staffing/recruitment/training/coaching of direct reports in finance and accounting including partnering with HR (Human Resources) for performance reviews.
- Ensuring company compliance with legislation and regulations.
- Establishing and maintaining financial operations and guidelines for each company department, and communicating them to ensure compliance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- CPA, CMA designation
- Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
- Relevant experience in a similar VP role
