Title: Training Program Coordinator
Reports to: Training Supervisor
Rate of Pay: $24-26/hour

Job Summary
Community Builders is looking for a Program Coordinator to join our team that wants to bring their talent and skills to compliment our leadership team and contribute to our mission of “building with purpose!”
The Training Program Coordinator role includes administration, liaising with stakeholders, curriculum development and delivery, and Case Management. The Training Program Coordinator’s main objective is to ensure the success of our Construction Trainee Program through a variety of functions.
Responsibilities
- Offboarding graduates to ensure long term success and a fruitful career in the trades; post graduation check ins, employer feedback, and long term mentorship
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Overseeing the onboarding of Trainees into the program including but not limited to: Managing the recruitment & selection process; Scheduling speakers; Liaising with Human Resources
- Weekly lesson delivery on life and other important skills training; healthy eating, conflict resolution, workforce preparedness, etc.
- Communicating the needs of the program to staff as needed
- Work with the team to manage Trainees: Managing their workplace readiness; Conflict resolution; Liaising with onsite Trainers to ensure Trainees are performing to expected standards; Personal check ins to ensure Trainee engagement and success within the program
- Developing and maintaining relationships with Union representatives to source job opportunities for Trainees
- Ongoing updates and improvements to program curriculum: Research on best practices; Updating curriculum with most current construction practices; Ensuring program relevance through research on community needs
- Consulting with other not-for-profits and like minded organizations to share and develop curriculum and practices
- Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure a steady stream of potential applicants
- Developing and maintaining relationships with local trades and businesses to source job opportunities for Trainees
- Tracking & measuring success through key metrics
- Maintaining relationships with Career Centres to ensure future applicants and funding
- Auditing and ensuring quality of program delivery by instructors and facilitators
- Communicating with Trainee stakeholders
- Coordinating with third party stakeholders
- Ensure all Trainee case notes and key informations are recorded, organized, and filed properly
Required Qualifications
- Lived experience working through employment barriers an asset
- Strong initiative; self-starter
- Excellent communication (oral and written), time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain and manage confidentiality information
- Passion for the community and the affordable housing movement
- Experience working in or alongside the Trades an asset
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience in the nonprofit sector
- Post-secondary education or proven experience in program delivery/coordination
