Responsibilities
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Stroke Program Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, development, implementation, evaluation and ongoing maintenance of a coordinated integrated stroke program within Nova Scotia Health. The coordinator will work as a liaison with other agencies in the provision of stroke care in Nova Scotia Health. The program will be based on best practices (as defined by Department of Health Standards derived from Canadian Stroke Strategic Guidelines) and will be aligned with the mission, vision, and strategic directions of Nova Scotia Health.

Permanent, Full Time Position; 75 hours bi-weekly
Salary Information
$38.47- $44.66 hourly

Qualifications
- Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently in pursuing objectives; ability to think critically using innovative and creative solutions in program development and management
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Current registration with applicable regulatory licensing body
- Demonstrated leadership competency in team building, conflict management and interpersonal effectiveness, including the ability to work sensitively and effectively with inter-professional health care teams and various community partners
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook, internet, and the ability to use health information systems for decision support, run general reports, complete data entry and statistics
- Baccalaureate Degree in a recognized health or social science field
- Minimum of three (3) years recent clinical experience working in cardiovascular/stroke care required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, providing clear objectives and adapting resources to meet projected timelines and goals
- If no applicants meet the above requirement, applicants with one or more years of experience with stroke patients may be considered
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Previous experience leading a team
