About The Opportunity
As a member of the Trauma Nova Scotia team, the Trauma Registry Coordinator is responsible for comprehensive information on injury in the province, by continuous development and improvement of the Nova Scotia Trauma Registry (NSTR). The Trauma Registry Coordinator ensures quality, consistent and timely trauma data abstraction and information to support research, program planning & evaluation, benchmarking, performance indicators, injury prevention initiatives, and public policy advocacy. The Trauma Registry Coordinator participates in leadership roles at the national, provincial and local trauma data related committees, associations and advisory councils.

$28.17 - $31.92 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Registration with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- A skills test may be administered as part of the selection process for this position
- Experience with data collection, coding, and patient record abstracting
- Three years related experience required
- Grade XII plus 2 year program in Health Information Management or equivalent required
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with query and report writing as well as graphic presentation of data for publication
- Competencies in other languages preferred; French an asset
- Demonstrated self-starter and problem solver
- Knowledge of injury, trauma care, and trauma systems
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel and Intranet
- Experience with database management, including installation of software, file management, and data quality
Hours
- Permanent Full-time (100%); 75 hours bi-weekly.
