Technical Support Analyst (Contract)

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mine Planning Systems, the consultant will be a key member of the Digital Systems team responsible for the sustainment and configuration of key Engineering systems for Teck North and South American operations. This will be a contract position based in Calgary.
This role involves a variety of responsibilities including system delivery, release, and deployment management, change management, vendor engagement, system implementation, system design, software quality assurance and peer review for other team members. The candidate will be the primary contact for support, implementation, and sustainment of Mine Planning Systems. Responsibilities

• Perform change control, incident resolution, quality assurance and testing, knowledge base updates, and implementation of releases and updates to engineering systems
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety rules and procedures
• Provide Tier 1 & 2 support for incidents related to Mine Engineering systems and collaborate with vendors to detect and resolve incidents
• Apply problem solving techniques to solve unique user issues that don’t have significant documentation or do not have a prescribed "resolution path"

Qualifications

• Software development/system configuration experience with a SQL Server database environment
• Creative and analytical problem solver who is self driven and capable of working in a fast-paced result oriented work environment
• Ability to diagnose & address application issues. Comfortable to operate in a support capacity for business-critical tools, applications, and expert systems
• Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to work remotely with little supervision is essential
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively as a member of a distributed team
• Working knowledge of Microsoft products, including Microsoft Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory, and SQL Server including SQL Server Reporting Services Report Development

Nice to Haves

• Strong knowledge and experience of SDLC, ITIL framework, ITSM processes
• Development projects
• Python, C# and/or PowerShell
• Previous Agile and Product Ownership experience
