Accounting Analyst (Contract) Jobs

Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Accounting, this role will be supporting the Technology & Innovation group at Teck - generating a forward-looking view of our business by preparing and reconciling journal entries and reports, following-up of controls applied to accounting operations and ensure compliance with corporate processes. Your work will allow the entire group to be more efficient, in addition to improving the accuracy of the tasks performed.
Responsibilities

• Assist in memo preparation
• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
• Prepare journal entries following related to Intangibles, PPE, Prepaids, G&A, R&D, accruals, and other ad hoc requests.
• Other projects as assigned
• Address or assist to manage multiple ad hoc requests
• Organize large data sets from ERP system
• Add/remove users in the ERP system
• Prepare or assist in preparing financial reports for month end, quarter end and year-end
• Prepare working papers
• Assist with internal and external audits

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Quick learner
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to communicate with staff at various levels of responsibility
• Basic understanding of accounting (accruals, payment cycle, capitalization, budgeting)
• Strong attention to detail
