Hiring: Financial Analyst

Reporting to the Director of FP&A, the FA will be driving the financial and variance analysis functions in ISI at the geographical and consolidated levels. This includes designing, building and maintaining reports that provide insights into business performance and future projections. The FA is also expected to offer innovative solutions that address emerging issues from our fast-growing business. The FA is expected to work closely with our Business Intelligence Analyst to convert raw data into information suitable for decision-making purposes.

The ideal candidate can balance the need for information relevant to decision-making, the limitations of available data and the ability to deliver consistent and reliable output. This role requires a proactive mentality, an innovative mindset and attention to relevant details.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Producing monthly expected to actual variance analysis
• Summarize and analyze cash collection from large data sets
• Identify efficiency in processes and implement changes to support the growth of business
• Estimate of future cash flow from policyholders
• Support the Director of FP&A and VP of Finance in financial modeling projects
• Develop tools to monitor financial performance and predictor variables to forecast results
• Reconciliation of loan and premium balances

Key Attributes

• Exposure to financial analysis responsibilities in a mid-sized public or private company
• Technical competence in mathematics, statistics, data & analytics, and problem solving is necessary
• Competency with data & analytical and programming software are highly valued
• Ability to go out of comfort zone and work with colleagues in other departments
• The ability to present financial analysis in a clear and concise manner
• Experience with insurance or financial service industries are desirable
• Accounting designations are valued (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or relevant experience

Candidate Selection

• Candidates are primarily evaluated on their technical competence in producing financial analysis using large data sets
• Candidates are expected to complete skill testing scenarios using Excel during interview
