What’s the ask?
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Operations, the Supervisor, Commercial Operations, is responsible for the day-to-day commercial operations to provide excellent customer service to our clients. The Supervisor will manage and support the Commercial Account Assistant team. The Supervisor will also be responsible for aggregated audit results and execution of key projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing support is provided to Commercial Account Representatives in a consistent manner across commercial operations. This includes coordinating vacation/backup scheduling to maintain support
- Work closely with Director of Commercial Operations and Trainers to ensure defined processes are being executed by appropriate Commercial staff
- Hold regular team meetings to communicate results, discuss current issues within department, process changes
- Mentor staff to ensure proper training is provided to staff as required
- Monitor workload including, follow-ups, backlog and recommend re-assignment as needed
- Execute procedure audits regularly and arrange appropriate training for individuals as deficiencies are identified
- Accountable for supervision of Commercial Account Assistants across all branch locations
- Manage monthly reports for the Commercial department including expiry lists, exclusion reports, open binder bill reports, production report, NAICS report
- Ensure all company policies, department procedures are adhered to
What does it take?
- Computer skills required – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EPIC/Policy Works would be an asset
- CAIB or CIP designation (or working towards designation) would be an asset
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills
- Minimum of 5 years insurance experience, commercial insurance would be an asset
- RIBO License is required or ability to obtain RIBO
- Strong leader with the demonstrated ability to execute on important initiatives and consistently meet or exceed performance expectations
- Previous experience managing people would be an asset
- Self-starter with ability to multi-task and adjust priorities regularly
- This position is subject to appropriate background checks that may include credential, employment, credit, criminal and reference checks.
