INVISTA (Canada) Company's Kingston Site located in Kingston, Ontario has an opening for an Operations Supervisor. We are one of Kingston's largest employers, with over 600 employees dedicated to the production of quality products used in the automotive airbag, and engineering polymer industries. The ideal candidate will have experience organizing work groups, mentoring employees, monitoring their progress, ensuring quality and EHS compliance. Utilizing strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills, the successful candidate will be excited about guiding, training, and supporting their team members in continued growth and development.

What You Will Do

• Ensure employees develop skills required to identify root cause and take effective actions to resolve problems.
• Create a safe and positive work environment, with a strong culture of teamwork.
• Work closely with other leaders to ensure effective transitions between teams and shifts.
• Lead a team of approximately 20 direct reports. Develop team members with a focus on ownership for results, creative thinking, and economic decision making that is aligned to the company's risk profile.
• Identify performance gaps and build improvement plans to enhance skill and capabilities within your team.
• Ensure an environment that allows open reporting and prompt follow-up and resolution to employee concerns.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Previous experience leading/supervising a team
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or military environment

What Will Put You Ahead

• Able and willing to work rotating 12 hr shifts as required
• Previous experience leading in unionized manufacturing environment
• Previous experience leading/supervising a manufacturing or operations team
• 3+ years' experience in a leadership role
• Post-secondary education in a technical or technology discipline (i.e. Maintenance, Welding, etc)
