We are pleased to announce that SSW has been approved to participate in the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) 2023 initiative, which provides funding to not-for-profit, public-sector employers, and small businesses to create summer job opportunities for eligible students. To apply, the students must meet the following CSJ program requirements:
1. be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
2. be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* and;
3. be legally entitled to work according to our provincial legislation and regulations.
JOB SUMMARY
The summer students will provide support to the following teams:
- Sourcing (1)
- Purchasing (2)
- Human Resources (2)
- Sourcing Indirect Spend (1)
- Information Technology (2)
- Data Management (2)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary duties and responsibilities for each role include, but are not limited to:
Purchasing Clerk, Purchasing (2 positions)
- Provide support to buyers on purchase order processing and related tasks.
- Work closely with the Data Management team to identify opportunities to increase accuracy of the item dictionary.
- Assist with the Purchase Order Acknowledgement review, resolving ‘Invoice Exceptions’, retrieval of delivery information, and preparing presentations and documents.
User Support Technician, IT (2 positions)
- Onboarding new hires.
- Preparing knowledge-based documentation and other duties as required.
- Assisting with Office 365 implementation and hardware (Laptops, Monitor, Mobile, etc.) refresh project.
- Responsible for timely and effective resolution of end-users daily operational issues related to IT services and their computers.
Administrative Co-ordinator, Sourcing (1 position)
- Assisting with project plan updates, meeting scheduling, materials development, documentation, communication drafting, and other duties as required.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the team.
Administrative Co-ordinator, Sourcing- Indirect Spend (1 position)
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the team.
- Assisting with project plan updates, meeting scheduling, materials development, documentation, communication drafting, and other duties as required.
Data Quality Administrator, RDO (2 positions)
- Process updates, documentation, and other duties as required.
- Provide administrative and coordination support to the Data Management team in various areas to support the improvement of data quality across our member Materials Management Hospital Information Systems (MM HIS)
- Assist with the gathering of information for MM HIS system updates
Administrative Co-ordinator, HR (1 position)
- Manage calenders for recruitment interview scheduling and other duties as assigned.
- Providing administrative support and coordinating tasks for the HR team
- Making recommendations to HR team re shared folder sub-folder amalgamation and set up.
- Assisting with the maintenance of the recruitment careers inbox.
- Filing, scanning and maintaining employee electronic records.
- Reviewing, and organizing shared drive folders.
Human Resources Coordinator / Project Support , HR (1 position)
- Assist with the development of HR process guide and SSW Leadership process guide
- Assist with development of presentations and educational aids for leaders
- Research relevant information, prepare recommendations and materials/documentation, identify supporting resources including communication templates
- Assist with the documenting of HR process maps
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Completed or enrolled in college or university, Business/Commerce/Supply Chain Management Program is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Data entry experience is an asset.
- Candidates may be asked to complete an Excel test.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Personal Skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an integrated team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priority and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral), able to interface directly with others in a competent and confident manner.
- Aptitude for problem solving.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
