Agilus work solutions is hiring an accomplished Sr. Project Manager to join our client’s team in the Construction Industry. Our client is a growth oriented, Toronto based real estate development and asset management firm primarily focused on larger scale commercial and residential projects in the Greater Toronto Area.
Role: Sr. Project Manager – High Rise Developments
Location: Toronto, ON
Summary: In this role, you will play an important role in the continued growth across the construction management operations. This is a broad role with significant responsibilities, well suited to an individual who has built up significant construction project management experience in prior roles, now looking to apply it in a hand on, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage change orders throughout the duration of our projects, including negotiating, assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Liaise and maintain continuous interaction with site personnel including site supers and estimators.
- Ensure compliance and adherence to Tarion Warranty.
- Oversee professional consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure they are complying with project / contract requirements including project costs and schedules and all other work plan requirements.
- Assist the Director of Construction in identifying and managing all project parameters that have an impact on projects success and profitability. This includes various build forms such as cast-in-place formwork, stick-build, steel-stud, penalization and various hybrid building formats including industry leading sales showrooms.
- Oversee and participate in contract negotiations as required with consultants, contractors, and vendors.
- Proactively identify and document risks and corresponding mitigation strategies, including helping to develop the corporate best practices and tools library.
- Act as Owner’s representative to provide leadership across projects amongst the construction team.
- Understand and enforce contract documents.
- Demonstrate leadership skills with ability to provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Support corporate initiatives to produce high performance buildings that, where appropriate, are at the forefront of technology, with certifications such as “Energy Star or LEED”.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Project Management.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail with an ability to identify risk, problem solving, and effective communication.
- Supplemental courses in Project Cost Management would be an added advantage.
- In addition to the above, we are looking for an individual who has managed a minimum of two projects on a full-cycle basis, with exposure to Division 1 through Division 16.
