What you will do
Reporting to the Manager, Workforce Planning and Sustainability, the Specialist, Nursing Professional Practice & Workforce Planning & Analytics will deploy workforce analytics to rethink and rearchitect a blended workforce planning platform, which will enable The Ottawa Hospital to identify and assess its current and future workforce demands.
This position is responsible for building and supporting an enterprise capacity and workforce planning model for advanced analytics, implementation support, and guidance through the introduction of workforce management practices, to achieve best in class workforce planning solutions and one that is inextricably linked with the organization’s strategic priorities. The resulting positive impact (qualitative and quantitative) from this role will introduce a data-driven and evidence-based approach with an enterprise-wide impact that will have a bearing upon other functions, such as capacity planning, employee engagement and experience, succession planning, learning and development, and Total Rewards.
The Specialist, Workforce Planning & Analytics will work independently with a high level of initiative and collaboration to ensure the quality and integrity of the statistical data as it relates to strategic planning and decision making and financial reporting. The incumbent will create, analyze and distribute statistical information for both internal and external stakeholders.
What you will bring
- Four (4) year undergraduate degree in Business Analytics, Data Management/Statistics or Business Administration;
- Is genuinely passionate about helping organizations transform their workforce. You keep up with trends in the market today and have your own point of view on how work is changing for businesses and people and are excited about helping organizations shape and prepare for this.
- Experience in partnering with business leaders to create a strategic plan that enable business transformation;
- Ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships with clients, partnering with them to set direction and priorities for the business.
- Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgement to develop meaningful insights and recommendations for clients.
- Experience in applying data analytics – ideally to challenges around people and the workforce – in a consulting or business-partner role;
- Three (3) years recent experience in the analysis, consolidation, and interpretation of complex and diverse data sets;
- Knowledge of statistical and analytical software as well as HRIS and BI technologies (such as IBM Tableau, and Microsoft Excel, ETL tools);
- Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize, assess, and communicate information effectively
- Significant experience in data collation, collection, analysis, and dissemination;
- Knowledge in business process mapping and process improvement;

- Master’s Degree;
- Two (2) years’ experience working in a healthcare environment.
