We are looking for a full-time Specialist, Billings. As a key member of the Finance team, you will be reporting to the Team Leader, Billings. In this role, you will be responsible for building relationships with legal assistants, lawyers, clients and firm members to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of special rate arrangements and processing of invoices including e-billing invoices.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and implement procedures to maximize efficiencies and ensure high level of client service
- Ensure all e-billing transactions, including invoice submissions, rate uploads, accruals, invoice rejections, and other issues, are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
- Provide assistance to others during absences as needed
- Respond to and resolve queries on the billing and e-billing processes
- Process invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Work collaboratively with the team to prioritize work and meet predefined deadlines
- Prepare financial reports for clients, lawyers and management as requested
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Understand client billing guidelines and ensure compliance, including special rates and billing requirements
Requirements:
- Discretion, confidentiality and attention to detail are essential
- A team player who takes initiative and works well independently
- Knowledge of and experience with invoicing software, including e-billing systems preferred;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a billings role, preferably in a professional services environment
- Post secondary education in accounting related field
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Experience in high volume, fast-paced billing environment
- Demonstrates excellent client service required to build and maintain client relationships and ability to anticipate client needs
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel);
- Confident and effective results driven individual with strong analytical, problem solving and attention to detail skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to be effective and prioritize and meet deadlines
