Requirements
We are looking to recruit a Software Quality Assurance Specialist for Civica's Health & Care Team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Software Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for precision manual testing of Civica's advanced and industry leading healthcare software solution, Convergence Platform.
Due to specialty equipment required for testing, this position will work out of our Winnipeg office located at 109 James Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3B0N6.
Primary Responsibilities
- Documenting and testing defects and validating against pass/fail criteria
- Creating complex test plans and test cases by reviewing and validating business and technical requirements
- Capturing and reporting on quality assurance metrics to benchmark quality and assess risk levels before external product release
- Executing software test plans/test cases for functional, system, interface, integration and regression testing
- Administering the internal and external release process / checklists
- Understand Civica Canada's applications from an end-user's perspective to enable the design of effective and relevant test plans and be able to provide pertinent tier 1 and tier 2 support
- Diligent documentation of test results and working with the fellow software development staff to quickly identify and correct software and documentation defects
- Maintaining and updating test data sets and testing plans
- Be the first line of user support during the Beta Release phase, providing troubleshooting and support advice to clients, assist and/or develop user acceptance test plans (where required)
- Upgrading and installing Beta software or assisting users
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assisting with the maintenance of test lab (installing and configuring software sets, maintaining user accounts, backup up databases etc.)
- Developing scripts and/or tests cases for Automated testing
- Providing content for readme or release notes and creating client-consumable technical bulletins (to communicate known issues)
- Training internal staff on the use, installation and troubleshooting of new releases
- Review and providing feedback on end-user documentation
- Contributing and maintaining internal knowledgebase
Qualifications / Certifications
The Software Quality Assurance Analyst must have the following formal IT qualifications:
- Database and/or SQL training or certifications
- College Level Diploma in Computer Sciences or Computer Programming
- This individual must have an affinity for details, an ability to troubleshoot complex problems, have good oral and written communication skills (English) and have strong customer service and organizational skills.
Qualifications in the following areas is considered a strong asset for the position
- Experience testing custom reports using Telerik Report Writer
- IIST Certified Software Test level CSTP-A or higher
- Experience as a help desk analyst, automated testing tools, or other computer scripting languages
Technical Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 5 years' experience creating test plans/test cases for functional, system, interface, integration and regression testing
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages, such as Windows CMD ".bat" and PowerShell
- A minimum of 5 years' experience testing API's using testing tools such as SoapUI and Postman
- Ability to install and configure 3rd party and Civica Canada software and apply service packs and hot fixes
- A minimum of 5 years' experience writing SQL queries
- Basic knowledge of application server environments, remote access tools such as RDP/VNC, Webex/Teams, VPN.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, Browsers and PowerPoint
- A minimum of 5 years' experience testing complex, rapidly changing enterprise level web-based healthcare software
- A minimum of 5 years' experience testing data analytics
- Proficient in testing Rich Web Applications utilizing Angular technology
- Excellent understanding of HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3
- Working knowledge of networking concepts
Benefits
- Salary: $72,000 - $85,000
- Work hours: 37.5 Hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
