The Opportunity


The Sr. Strategy/Strategy Analyst will be responsible for supporting strategic planning and other top priority Canopy Growth initiatives. They will identify, research, and evaluate threats and opportunities to our long-term growth plan. The Sr. Strategy Analyst will conduct fact-based and data-driven research to develop business cases and strategic options based on industry insights, competitor developments, internal capabilities, and financial models. The individual will develop analytical models and executive presentations that influence our long-term growth plans and priorities.


Responsibilities


  • Evaluate new internal and external opportunities and threats, implications to industry and business, and develop recommended response
  • Deliver forward-looking market models and analysis to evaluate and monitor growth drivers, barriers, and opportunities, implications to the business, and recommended course of action
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed
  • Extract, manipulate and manage large internal and third-party datasets to generate informative insights, KPIs, visualizations and presentations
  • Work directly with the Sr. Manager and other cross-functional leaders to identify, scope, prioritize and structure analysis of various strategic initiatives and opportunities in line with delivering the organization’s key objectives
  • Maintain routine competitive intelligence analysis and deliverables (e.g., newsletter, Executive Report, ad-hoc requests)
  • Routinely take ownership of projects from conception to completion, collaborating with peers and business unit stakeholders to develop a clear recommendation and present to leadership


Experience


  • Resourceful self-starter with a results-oriented mindset and the capability to structure an approach to solve ambiguous and complex problems
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Strategy Consulting experience preferred
  • Excellent time management, project planning, and organizational skills
  • Resilient with the capability to consistently meet commitments and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including sharing ideas and information across diverse audiences and producing high-quality deliverables to drive business decisions; Confident and able to be influential and assertive
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and make ongoing decisions; Proven ability to break down complex problems into manageable goals
  • Strategic and analytical thinker, with the ability to look into the details and interpret the impact of key industry drivers ; Superior problem solving and decision-making skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in strategic project or market analysis roles like corporate strategy development or 3+ years of management consulting experience with a track record of expanding responsibilities/roles
  • High level of integrity and professional judgment, with the ability to effectively manage highly sensitive, confidential information
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and preferable experience with tableau
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key internal cross-functional business partners with the ability to generate buy-in
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance/Accounting, Economics or related field. Masters/MBA preferred
