The Senior Associate, Social Media will be a crucial member of the Global Communications team, reporting to the Director, Digital Strategy & Brand Content and working closely with stakeholders across Global Communications and the OMERS global organization.

You are organized, able to balance many priorities and objectives. You’re an agile self-starter who can bounce between creative, analytic, and strategic projects.
Responsibilities
Founded in 1962, OMERS is one of Canada’s largest defined benefit pension plans, with $124 billion in net assets as at December 31, 2022. OMERS is a jointly-sponsored pension plan, with more than 1,000 participating employers ranging from large cities to local agencies, and over half a million active, deferred and retired members. OMERS members include union and non-union employees of municipalities, school boards, local boards, transit systems, electrical utilities, emergency services and children’s aid societies across Ontario. Contributions to the Plan are funded equally by members and employers. Responsibilities
- Implement content strategies that align channel best practices and OMERS global strategies that extend reach and strengthen engagement across audiences
- Monitor and measure channel performance to enable the continuous evaluation and optimization of audience experiences and engagement on social channels
- Continuously monitor social media channel best practices and algorithm updates.
- Manage social communities by responding to issues and handling audience inquires
- Support the development of resources that enable business partner use of social platforms to deliver growth in employee advocacy and engagement
- Develop and implement social media channel strategies that will strategically deliver OMERS communications and branded content across social channels
- Create and manage social media content calendar that highlights OMERS key priorities and industry leadership through our people, purpose, and portfolios
- Write and execute social media communications while partnering with Design Centre of Excellence in creative development
- An ability to innovate and bring fresh solutions to problems
- A willingness to share and contribute to new ways to go beyond expectations
- The ability to build relationships based in partnership and trust
- Has an eye for detail, spell check is not enough for this person
- Comfort and experience interacting with C-Suite leaders and demonstrated ability to effectively influence at the executive level
- Entrepreneurial approach and desire to build new models and practices. Comfort with ambiguity
- Experience developing content and testing strategies to improve on key metrics
- Brings 4+ years of experience in a similar or related role
- A customer service-orientated approach
- A willingness to be flexible to accommodate colleagues across multiple time zones
- Social listening capabilities and detailed metrics tracking
