The Work
This role functions as an “Enablement Agent” under the Digital Workspace Leader, and is accountable to analyze employee needs, work on delivery solutions and measure adoption of digital tools and processes.
Your ultimate goal is to construct a plan to better engage with our employees and make them more effective and more satisfied with their work and their workplace, and more digitally dexterous.
As Canada’s Challenger Bank, a key component of Equitable’s digital journey is the transformation of our employee facing assets (people, processes and technology) to an increasingly digital operating model, primarily to engender stronger employee engagement, efficacy and efficiency that drives both workplace satisfaction and productivity.
We will get there by enacting against a short-term strategy that:
  • Senses and explores by identifying emerging technologies and industry trends to inform business digital opportunities and a focus for innovation.
  • Specific apps and tools that focus on content collaboration and collaborative work management (esp. Microsoft 0365 Co Pilot and other generative AI capabilities) to be identified as areas of preliminary focus (role here is of enablement not development or technology build)
  • Advances digital dexterity (defined as the ambition and ability of employees to apply technology for better business outcomes. It includes creating and interacting with new forms of media and discovering and interpreting information)
  • Catalogues of skills and proficiency levels will be developed, that can be used to illustrate employee progress (and ultimately, business utility and benefits)
  • Supports Workplace Engineering team in the provisioning of collaboration tooling & automation, as well as change management, which enables staff to work more efficiently and effectively, in select identified areas
  • Designs, manages, and promotes community management; user (employee) enablement; and employee experience management.
  • Engages employees more broadly in the company’s digital journey so that ideas “bubble up”
The Core Parts Of Your Role Would Be To
  • Contribute to the creation of, and execute against, digital workplace strategy, planning and governance.
  • Work with Tech to incorporate newer technologies in order to enable more effective ways of working.
  • Identify, define, prioritize and communicate business-relevant digital workplace capabilities & upskilling needs.
  • Change enablement & sustainment (education, tool guidance, etc.) where needed.
  • Timely provisioning of collaboration and productivity toolsets to employees by Tech (with I&O)
  • Create a planning process that inspires, guides and corrects the digital workplace initiative to ensure that it matches the organization's strategy and meets its business objectives:
  • Drive contextual change management as per the suggested framework below (governance, education, communications and adoption plans)
  • Listen, learn, engage broadly (help figure out how to optimize this role!)
  • Prioritize and execute the key changes needed in human interactions, organization and processes so that they improve the employee experience.
  • Design a metrics-driven continuous-delivery operating model for the digital workplace program.
Some Of Your Sample Activities And Deliverables Include
  • Analyze employee behaviors, organizational structures and business processes — to best enable and sustain digital workplace programs. What makes sense/is fit for purpose for EQB?
  • Development of employee facing use cases & employee journeys
  • Assessment of existing EQB document and collaboration processes and compilation of a roadmap to advance to end state based on Digital Workspace Strategy
  • Research associated best practices and filter learnings for EQB.
Let’s Talk About You
  • High-level understanding of agile work (non-technical)
  • A work-relevant undergraduate degree, preferably in business, communications or related to digital experience.
  • At least 7+ years of business work experience and business knowledge/understanding
  • Respect within the organization (i.e., you’re a high performer)
  • Understanding (as practitioner) of current collaboration and social media tools
  • Able to function at a task level but also at a strategic level.
  • Intellectual agility (proven)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor teams/champions in BUs.
  • Tech savvy
  • Ability to pivot when necessary and quickly (flexibility)
  • Proven facilitation, negotiation and consultation skills, including the ability to communicate succinctly and effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels of the organization.
  • Mature, confident, personable, professional presence
  • Independent, empathetic when necessary & enthusiastic
  • Adept with social media tooling (as a user) and Office 365 (+ other Cloud-supplied software as a service (SaaS) apps)
  • Ability to work in ambiguously defined situations with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of behavioural science is an asset.
  • Understanding of Experience Design, or interest to learn (for employee experience work)

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
