Position Summary
This role is Hybrid role (Office/Home and Worksite) in Ottawa.
In support of a recently awarded contract, the Senior Network Engineer will be responsible analyzing, designing and implementing network system architectures and network engineering and network systems security (hardware, software and network), including cryptographic key, devices, hardware, firmware or software that embodies or describes cryptographic logic.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Network Engineering for Real-Time systems, Distributed Systems, embedded systems or mission critical systems environments.
• Analyzing, designing, integrating, testing and implementing communications network.
• Network System Integration: hardware and software, (COTS and/or custom developed) components into new or existing systems.
• Network architecture directly related to implementation practices such as layer 2 nomenclature, routing protocol selection, security protocols, and deployment models in a high security environment.
• Performing any other related work as required.
• Employing a computer modelling and simulation tool to complete network and/or wireless communications performance studies or protocol development.
• Leads employees to meet the organization and customer’s expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment.
• Provides oversight and direction to a team of employees in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Life-cycle management of network systems.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience preparing technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering.
• Previous experience with leading teams in the development of network systems, frameworks or strategies.
• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in a similar position working on Military Command and Control Software systems.
• Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience with providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.

Key Abilities:

• Analyzing and implementing network Change Requests (CR).
• Conducting network requirements analysis and definition.
• Performing system prototyping, modeling and simulation'.
• Recommending and evaluating network engineering changes and perform a system impact analysis.
• Conduct “buy and try” evaluations.
• Analyzing and resolving identified network related System Problem Reports (SPRs).
• System integration, qualification testing, standard operation procedure (SOP) documentation, system acceptance support, V&V support on network configuration items, prepare network topology, engineering and design diagrams, and accreditation documentation, etc.
• Collaborating with other technical and engineering staff on any network requirements or architecture adjustments.
• Design, develop and integrating network level modifications.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in network, software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field required.
