Network Security Engineer

As part of our continued expansion, we are on the lookout for a Network Security Engineer to join our growing network operations team. This role is located in Montreal and will form part of an expanded global team and will focus on the 24/7 support of our DDoS, WAF and Firewall services designed to protect both our customer's environments and Continent 8 infrastructure.

The C8 global network spans North America, Europe and Asia enabling all of our Cloud, Network and Security products and services. Ensuring the operational integrity and availability of C8 infrastructure is vital to the success of our business and that of our customers.

The Role

As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Developing ways to automate common operational & repeatable build
• Making recommendations and providing technical guidance to solve business problems and improve service availability for customers.
• Working closely with our software teams in defining the tools that enable security infrastructure scaling at volume.
• Escalation point for support teams in the resolution of customer service outages during DDoS attacks and other security events.
• Managing of planned maintenance and upgrade activities for DDoS mitigation platforms and firewall devices.
• Collaborate with the wider network team to implement security controls, defences, and countermeasures to prevent internal and/or external attacks.
• Creating and maintaining current documentation/ Wiki
• Participating in various technology
• Participating in the planning, configuration and support of the DoS mitigation platforms, firewall/ VPN devices and Web protection services.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required

• Extensive knowledge of IP Networking infrastructure and protocols used in large international service provider networks.
• Industry-recognised certifications such as CCNA/P, JNCIA/P.
• Required 3-5 years of experience working in a network position or related to operations
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure during security events.
• Familiar with Networking Monitoring and Management
• Experience and practical knowledge of automation practices using Ansible playbook and Python programming is a bonus.
• Experience with DDoS platforms, firewalls and other Intrusion Detection and prevention systems is a must.
• Solid understanding of Zero Trust Network Access
• Excellent organisational and communication skills particularly in a customer-facing
• Experience in packet decoding and analysis during attack
