Senior Mechanical System Designer (Mineral Processing Plants)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Layout Designer to support our projects in GTA. We are looking for someone with passion and drive, who is highly organized and can ensure that our high standard of quality is maintained. With varied engineering, procurement and construction options, your skilled guidance in influencing project plan execution is crucial to the delivery of sustainable and successful outcomes for our clients.
About The Role

• Deliver design drawings according to project-specific design criteria as well as the defined regulations, codes, and standards.
• Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards.
• Manage a team of layout designers against project schedule and budgeted hours.
• Control and monitor layout budget hours and manpower loading and provide forecast.Support proposal managers in providing input for the proposal and estimates.
• Facilitate and ensure interdisciplinary co-ordination when developing layouts or models.
• Development of mechanical layouts in 2D layouts (Autocad 3D layout an asset).
• Produce layout relevant deliverables such as design criteria, design drawings and reports.
• Prepare mechanical layouts: study level and detail drawings in line with project requirements

Requirements:

• Use of ProjectWise is an asset.
• Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to design AutoCAD, Prostructures, 2D and 3D. Smartplant an asset.
• Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes relating to the design and systems for projects.
• Able to use vendor data, drawings and information to develop and verify the model.
• 15 year’s relevant experience in Mechanical Layout and design drafting of Mineral Processing Plants within a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment.
• Able to work well, either as lead, part of a team or independently.
• Experience in layout design for studies and projects.
• Gold and Copper commodities experience.
