About The Team
The Climate team’s mission is to dramatically accelerate the world’s
transition to a net zero economy. In 2021, we launched Stripe
Climate enabling merchants to direct a fraction of their revenue to
help scale emerging carbon removal technologies in just a few clicks. In
2022, we launched Frontier in collaboration with Alphabet, Shopify,
Meta, and McKinsey Sustainability. Frontier is an advance market
commitment to buy $925M+ of permanent carbon removal by 2030. For our
next act, we want to help everyone easily purchase permanent carbon
removal from the most innovative suppliers in Frontier’s portfolio.
To avoid the worst effects of climate change, most climate models agree
the world will need around 6 billion tons of carbon removal a year by
2050. If successful, we’ll increase the likelihood that the world has
the portfolio of carbon removal solutions needed to reach these climate
goals. We need your help!
What you’ll do
We’re looking for a designer to join our emerging business. We’re
looking for someone with strong UX skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
to help build solid foundations and products that maximize our climate
impact for both Stripe and non-Stripe businesses. If you’re comfortable
thinking about design, user, and strategic questions you might be just
who we’re looking for.
Responsibilities

• Develop and execute against both short and long-term roadmaps. Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, engineering effort, and user experience.
• Lead designer owning end-to-end design and product direction for Stripe Climate and Frontier.
• Work closely with multiple disciplines including PM, Engineering, Communications, and Strategy & Operations to help ship great solutions that deliver on merchant needs
• Do what you do best — whether that’s sketches, wireframes, prototypes, designs, user research, or code—and you’ll have the opportunity to sharpen the skills you’re looking to develop
• Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design and company leadership
• Shape thoughtful product experiences for web and mobile

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Cares deeply about understanding our users, including conducting scrappy UX research to unblock team and design direction
• Proactively collaborates with cross-discipline peers and influences stakeholders to push to raise our quality of craft and execution
• Models a high bar for quality and craft in visual and interaction design, can think in systems and is fluent in modern UX patterns
• Ideal, but not required: Has prior experience working on products that help counteract climate change
• Demonstrates autonomy and resilience in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment, knowing how to balance framing high-level UX strategy with executing at low levels of detail
• Has 4+ years experience designing and shipping web and mobile products
• Energized by the long-term impact of working on hard problems at the intersection of business, design, and climate that are realized over extended periods of time.
