Mechanical Designer/Eit Jobs

Position:

Currently seeking aMechanical Designer/EIT with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Must be proficient in Revit and AutoCAD to assist with the design of mechanical systems. Ideal candidate would be involved in all design phases of company projects: conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the InVision Engineering Solutions team to produce Mechanical Drawings which require the design/drafting of HVAC systems, Plumbing & Drainage systems, fire protection systems within floor plans/schematic drawings/mechanical room layouts/mechanical schedules etc.
• Work with company team in the preparation of equipment sizing, selections with suppliers and incorporation into mechanical schedules.
• Preparation of Mechanical Drawings and Reports.
• Prepare calculations to size ductwork, hydronic piping, natural gas piping, plumbing & drainage system and incorporate sizing into Mechanical documents.
• Assist with site survey of existing conditions for renovation projects when required.
• Design/drafting of mechanical drawings in Revit or AutoCAD; adhering to company CAD standards.
• Prepare heat gain/heat loss calculations when required.
• Coordinate with all relevant disciplines on each project assigned; such as Architectural, Electrical and Structural disciplines.
• Design mechanical systems in accordance with local codes, applicable standards, and company standards.
• Any other related tasks as they are assigned by managing Principal to assist in project completion.
• Assist with construction administration tasks such as site visits, site visit reports, review of shop drawings etc.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment driven by project deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and in a team based environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to problem solve and make timely and thought out decisions.
• Familiar with municipal and provincial codes and standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineeringwith experience designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Educational buildings.
• Valid Ontario’s Driver’s License and access to a vehicle.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and meet project deadlines.
• Proficient in Carrier HAP.
• Proficient in both Revit and AutoCAD.
