Job Purpose
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role of a Senior Mechanical Engineer is accountable for owning the efficient execution of the lifecycle of projects they are assigned and assign to others, solving the business problems of internal and external clients. Your technical expertise, leadership skills and ability to mentor more junior resources will be instrumental in leading teams to be successful. You will develop analytical and engineering processes and tools and provide technical training to our internal resources. Projects – whether executed as a single engineer or as part of a supportive and collaborative team – are resourced based on the individual’s and the team’s strengths, experience, and scheduled availability. We will provide the tools, resources, training, and strategy, for our clients, the business and you to be successful.

- Delivering client value with the right, quality, solution to the problem presented
- Efficient use of client resources, delivering projects on time and on budget
- Technical project oversight – Mechanical with Authentication of documents
- Developing technical resources, people, tools & processes

You will be appreciative of and supportive of the multi-disciplinary teams that work within AIP Industries and within our client’s businesses.
In providing machine technologies solutions, AIP’s projects encompass cross-functional skillsets. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, experience in the following are highly regarded:·
- Direct experience with parametric 2D and 3D modeling CAD software, with experience in Onshape, Solidworks and Draftsight preferred.·
- Exceptional work ethic, comfortable and highly motivated to apply head-skill, hand-skills to all engineering aspects of our machine technology projects, where required.·
- Demonstrated technical expertise in solving a variety of problems in areas such as: Automated equipment; Computational Fluid Dynamics CFD; Finite Element Analysis FEA; Multiphysics systems; Structural and heat transfer analysis of equipment at combined high pressures, temperatures and in motion; Regulatory compliance to codes, standards, acts; Flow control design; Gear design; Design for X; Failure analysis; Rapid prototyping through Additive and Subtractive manufacturing technologies.·
- 15+ years experience in a client facing engineering role. Graduate degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, and Professional Engineer licensed with APEGA.·
- Attention to detail and the holistic analytical ability to see how systems flow together, with excellent communication skills to facilitate leading teams efficiently.·
- High level of emotional intelligence (EQ) integrated with being open minded and with a positive approach to enhancing work relationships. Apply collaborative problem-solving, value input from all, and able to receive and give feedback constructively.·
- Possess the courage to “fail fast,” accept and drive change with strong and proven leadership skills. Experience in Agile, data-driven and high velocity project execution is considered an asset.·
- Ability to think like an entrepreneur, with a desire to love the client’s problem, respect their resources, and provide practical solutions at a pace that can meet client deadlines.
