Senior Director, Information Technology (Hybrid), Collingwood, ON

Summary
The Senior Director, Information Technology will lead the IT function within Parkbridge, with responsibility for overall customer (internal and external) satisfaction, project delivery, resource planning and management for a portfolio of technology-oriented initiatives and ongoing infrastructure and operations accountability.
You will be responsible for the preparation and updating of the IT strategic plan to ensure alignment with broader organizational objectives. They will be expected to work with all business stakeholders and engage senior leaders to ensure ongoing support and alignment with functional plans.
Note - This is hybrid role, travel to Collingwood and QuadReal Toronto as required.
Primary Responsibilities
  • O In alignment with QuadReal’s IT group, maintain and update as appropriate the IT strategic plan, including tactical initiatives, staffing plan, and budget, through effective collaboration with the functional partners
  • Strategy/Driving Performance
  • O Using that collaborative lens, continue to improve on the prioritization and execution of key “driving performance” projects through the ongoing balancing of priorities, resources, and deliverables, as well as establishing and measuring against identified performance outcomes where appropriate
  • O Ensure that the IT strategic plan and initiatives continue to align with Parkbridge’s strategic plan and other related organizational goals
  • O Drive the company culture in your responsible department and the managers who report to you, while ensuring the unity of purpose and fulfillment of Parkbridge’s mission
  • O Build and evolve high-performance teams; evaluate team strengths and weaknesses; work with Human Resources to fill key skills gaps on the team
  • O Effectively coach, manage, and develop team through regular meetings and follow up to resolve any issues or concerns that may arise
  • O Responsible for ensuring that all employees within the IT function are committed to Parkbridge’s goals and objectives, and to meeting expectations/ requirements, while also ensuring that management are providing a positive, challenging environment to meet these expectations
  • People and Team Leadership
  • O Prepare and manage IT functional budget, and help ensure that projects meet financial objectives
  • O Responsible for IT Project Management Team, with oversight for all project management, development, and training resources
  • O Prioritize issues and apply creative problem-solving skills; develop solutions to address root causes of problems so they do not reappear
  • O Work with stakeholders to balance product scope and quality against available resources and time; understand the business impact of product quality; help drive decision-making on product scope
  • O Foresee risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans
  • O Drive communication within the team and with external groups; effectively communicate project status regularly to all interested stakeholders
  • O Translate business and product goals into a detailed, feasible plan of action for the entire project cycle; drive execution of that plan to ensure project success
  • Budgeting and Financial Controls
  • O Approach problems and decisions from a cost-benefit perspective; use cost-benefit analyses to support conclusions and recommendations
  • O Identify and implement tactics that will assist with the successful adoption of critical processes and systems within the organization

  • O Identify and implement improvements in our hand-off from development to the corporate application support team as new systems transition into production
  • O Responsible for enterprise data and analytics practice with oversight for strategy and roadmap execution
  • O Assist in identifying opportunities to increase the throughput of our development group using outsourced resources, more robust requirements/functional specifications, and more detailed test plans/use cases
  • Strong financial management acumen; ability to navigate through complex financial models to maximize results
  • O Develop and continuously improve IT processes, oversee, and manage financial and staffing resources and service providers
  • Qualifications
  • Experience managing strategic relationships with 3rd party vendors and service providers
  • O Monitor compliance with information security policies and procedures among employees, service providers, alliances, and other third parties, referring problems to appropriate parties
  • Analytical mindset - being able to develop and utilize reliable metrics to generate appropriate technology solutions
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive leadership experience guiding and inspiring teams in Information Technology
  • Knowledge of applicable legislated frameworks, emerging IT trends, IT security/compliance and enterprise data management
  • Experience with ERP analysis, selection and implementation would be beneficial
  • O Develop and execute the IT infrastructure and security strategy plan and roadmap
  • O Recommend and implement projects/programs to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are proactively managed (SOC, PCI, CASL, Privacy, etc.)
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other related field
  • Strong project management skills, managing multiple priorities simultaneously
