The Opportunity:
Our client, a leading consumer goods manufacturer, is seeking a Senior Demand Planner to support their world class manufacturing business. You will be entrusted to develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external (e.g., finance, sales & marketing, product development, etc.) supply chain planning partners. This position is charged with making decisions that impact the demand plan and communicating those decisions to stakeholders, as well as identify and resolve forecast variances. The demand planner role expands to include participating in sales and operations planning and execution (S&OP, S&OE) processes, as well as contributing to special projects and other supply chain and business strategy initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Interact with sales, marketing, and operations to understand and interpret the potential impact market trends and demand drivers can have on demand and adjust the forecast to reflect those impacts.
- Build and maintain the forecast with ranges that is shaped and finalized through a collaborative, consensus-driven process.
- Work with various cross-functional teams on projects such as new product launches, product discontinuations, promotions, and events. Demonstrate sound business decision making aligned with company goals.
- Assess the impact of market changes or significant variances in the forecast and recommend appropriate revisions and tactics.
- Collect past/future demand factors (distribution gains/losses, price changes, new/discontinued products, and promotion plans, for example) from sales and marketing and forecast/model their impacts on demand.
- Participate in special Supply Chain projects (AI, Integrated Business Planning, & others)
- Make recommendations to enhance business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- Understanding of applicable computer systems such as: SAP ERP / BW, MS Office Suite.
- Post-secondary degree from either a University or College in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Logistics.
- Strong leadership skills. Ability to lead, contribute, and influence others in a team-based organization.
- Minimum of 5 years in a Demand Planning role or equivalent experience in planning.
- Experience in Power BI is an asset.
- Ability to work within high-performing teams and is highly collaborative.
- Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
- Proficient in problem solving and problem-solving skills such as the ability to question, accurately identify a need, and present an effective solution.
- Knowledge of finance, sales, marketing, and R&D functions.
- Proficiency using technology tools that enable demand planning and reporting. (SAP APO, SAP IBP, or other)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into high-level analysis and demand planning.
