Job Description
As a Senior Copy & Content Writer at Orium, you're one part marketing copywriter, one part strategic thinker, and one part thought leader. Reporting to our Director, Brand and Content, you'll work collaboratively with our Marketing, Business Development, Sales, and Brand & Content teams to create clear, compelling content that engages prospects and reinforces our brand position while appealing to both candidate and business prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Support our content marketing by independently writing client and recruitment facing articles, researching and pitching article topics and tailoring the tone to match the audience and brand voice
  • Conduct necessary research and engage with our in-house experts in design, development, and product to ensure full understanding of the topics you’re writing about
  • Maintain a high-level of quality for all written content
  • Act as the primary writer for our marketing efforts, flexing across digital ad copy, email campaigns, landing pages, and other short-form copywriting
  • Lead and generate content ideas, working collaboratively with department stakeholders, that help us push new ideas to the fore
  • Balance a content production schedule with a clear prioritization list and ability to meet established deadlines

Skills And Qualifications

  • Extreme attention to detail with a strong focus on grammar, in particular
  • Ability to communicate technical content and ideas to a business or non-technical audience
  • 5+ years experience in a professional writing context creating content marketing, ad copy, landing page copy, email marketing content, etc.
  • Ability to produce 3-4 articles/month alongside ongoing marketing production demands
  • Comfort conducting both primary and secondary research and the ability to summarize complex ideas into clear, concise prose

Is the Role a Fit for You?

The Senior Copy & Content Writer role emphasizes interpersonal skills, task planning and management, and most importantly, strong writing capabilities, especially in turning complex technical concepts into easily digestible insights. You’ll find fulfillment in the role if you:

  • Embrace ambiguity and uncertainty. You see the rapidly changing nature of emerging markets as an opportunity, not an obstacle.
  • Delight in bringing new ideas to life. You thrill at the concept of going beyond the theoretical and ensuring that prospective customers understand the compelling value proposition of new offerings.
  • Find passion in new challenges. Every chance to learn and move things forward or to share your entrepreneurship excites you.
  • Thoroughly enjoy collaborative work. Knowledge sharing and the chance to be part of a team instead of a solo hero is important to you.

Benefits And Perks

  • Our Toronto HQ is a modern, ergonomic space complete with hotelling standing/sitting desks available and an open-concept social atmosphere.
  • On top of standard medical and dental coverage, we offer benefits like a parental leave top-up plan, an EAP, mental health coverage, virtual healthcare and a minimum vacation policy.
  • Enjoy a flexible schedule of full-time hours. As a remote-first organization, we care about the work you do, but it’s up to you to choose where and how you do it.
  • Explore ongoing opportunities for professional development: training, conferences, certifications, and in-house peer mentorship.
  • Pursue independent projects, explore new ideas, and challenge yourself in your field with dedicated “Awesome time” (self-directed professional development) annually and quarterly training budgets.
  • Experiment with new techniques, wear multiple hats and learn about new disciplines.
  • Additional perks are available including in-house mindfulness sessions, an employee stock option plan, remote group get-togethers, and more!

Performance and Growth Expectations

We emphasize accountability for outcomes, but autonomy in activities. Your work will be measured across a number of data points (peer, leader & project team feedback) and will also be measured on the basis of client and user satisfaction. Your growth path is in your hands— you’ll have ongoing meetings with your leader to help determine your path, but your progress will be based on what you hope to achieve and how you choose to access the resources available to you.
