As a Senior Accountant youwill be workingon assignments under the direct supervision of aDirectorand a Partner for all types of assurance engagements. You will be working in a broad range of industries on a variety of engagements, including emerging industries such as cannabis, psychedelics, and gaming.You will oversee entire engagements from planning to completion, including but not limited to:
- Coaching Junior and Intermediate Accountants by providing input and expertise where necessary
- Building effective and long lasting working relationships on assignments with operational client contacts
- Responding effectively and efficiently to client, manager and partner requests
- Co-ordinating group audits with component auditors in other cities and countries
- Preparing complex areas of the file
- Reviewing work completed by Junior and Intermediate team members
- Completing and overseeing others’ work on audit files
Summary of Responsibilities
- Responding effectively to client, manager and partner requests and suggestions relating to an assignment
- Buildingeffective working client relationships on assignments with operational client contacts
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Ability to recognize relevant accounting and audit issues from basic analysis
- Supervising and training junior and intermediate staff
- Managing allocated projects or assignments, including time management
- Understanding technical standards with the expected level of assistance and supervision
- Planning, execution and completion of audit files
- Maintaining technical knowledge – IFRS, ASPE, CAS - by: attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; and establishing personal networks
Summary of Experience
- 2+ years of audit experience
Requirements:
- CPA designation or at least substantial progress thereto
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Possessing leadership qualities and ability to support team members and goals.
- Strong commitment to quality
- Strong file management skills and organization
- Experience with Caseware
- Thorough knowledge and experience working with IFRS, ASPE and CAS to be able to complete complex areas of an engagement
- Ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate well with clients, managers and partners
