Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately November 2023), coming into the office a minimum of 2 days per week, every other week on designated days.

What you will be doing:
- Collaborate with other members of the Compliance team to analyze and review regulatory requirements, to proactively identify and implement new or improved oversight/supervisory processes, procedures, and reporting; and is accountable to document such processes.
- Develop the systems and processes for providing regular reporting on the execution of the market conduct audit program and its outcomes
- Develop, track, and maintain the risk monitoring program and schedule for the market conduct audit program
- Research and assess business practices and regulatory obligations/expectations to identify opportunities for Compliance to implement new (or improve existing) compliance programs and monitoring tools
- Support the Compliance Audit and Testing Program as needed in the development of risk ranking, monitoring, and testing
- Understand how work is conducted within the various business units within the Company and Compliance department.
- Conduct market conduct audits of distribution intermediaries including National Accounts, Managing General Agencies and advisors while maintaining ongoing effective business relationships
- Execute advisor client file audits and discussions in support of both the audit and investigation functions
- Identify areas for improvement and change
- Lead, develop, and participate in user acceptance testing, validating that the technology or solution meets needs, and plays the key role in ensuring successful project implementation for Compliance-only projects and those initiated by the various business areas that require compliance IT input
- This work may include (a) training, (b) process/procedure changes, (c) modifications to compliance/business policies, (d) modifications/improvements to or implementation of new technology, or a combination of the four
- Advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft Access (VBA, macros, general troubleshooting skills)
- Excellent self-management and time management skills, with ability to remain calm and flexible under tight timelines and exercise judgment in a changing environment
- Demonstrated initiative in proactively acting on ideas and opportunities before being asked/ required, thinking outside of the box while considering the overall picture/impact
- Ability to develop accurate and meaningful reports and data visualizations for senior leadership
- Ability to perform ad-hoc data analysis, uncover patterns and “tell the story” to internal and external partners
- Advanced-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel (macros, v-lookups, and pivot tables)
- Superior documentation, communication & presentation skills
- Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate with representatives from other areas
- Business Analyst Certification or significant previous experience as a BA preferred.
- Strong organization skills and well-developed project management skills
- Excellent data handling skills – experienced in the use of analytical tools and ability to manipulate and analyze data from various sources / data formats
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Strong conceptual skills and ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in a changing environment
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to define and resolve complex issues through knowledge and understanding of a variety of analytical tools
- Breadth of knowledge and experience with relational databases (i.e., SQL), including writing complex queries to join, retrieve and analyze data from multiple database tables
- Knowledge of compliance rules and regulations including anti-money laundering legislation and needs-based insurance sales practices
- Previous experience (minimum 3 years) in the life insurance or financial services industry
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
