About Us

pointA is a non-profit that envisions sustainable transportation options for everyone. Our goal is to connect people to the places they want to go. We aim to give people and businesses transportation options that benefit the environment, the economy, and the well-being of our communities. In collaboration with our funders, members, and partners, we facilitate transportation demand management (TDM) programs and advocate for sustainable transportation.


Our core activities include developing, launching, and monitoring TDM programs for medium- to large- sized organizations. We promote a menu of options for commuters, such as transit, ride-matching, shuttle buses, vanpooling, telecommuting, cycling, and walking.


Summary of Position

Reporting to the Associate Director, you will be responsible for increasing the number of clients across our programs to expand our reach across Canada (sales development – 70%) and also exploring new markets (business development – 20%). We are seeking an experienced incumbent who has at least 1-2 years of proven sales experience and a track record.


You are:

  • An understanding of how pointA’s programs help to achieve client ESG goals and/or help with improving employee retention would be an asset.
  • Innovative and resourceful – you enjoy finding new ways to source new information on clients, trends on commuting and other research areas.
  • An experienced (1-2 years) sales manager with a proven track record to demonstrate your ability to bring in corporate clients to any of our programs, in particular the Best Workplaces for Commuters and Smart Commute programs.
  • An independent self-starter who is highly organized and able to balance cold calling and executing sales campaigns with researching new clients and discovery calls and client follow-ups under minimal supervision.
  • An excellent communicator in English and French who displays professionalism when working with a variety of stakeholders of diverse interests and backgrounds.


Your areas of responsibility:


Sales development (70%):

  • Work with the marketing & communications manager to develop and implement sales campaigns. Assist with drafting presentations, reference materials, social media content, and other documents as required.
  • Prepare monthly and annual business development plans, setting revenue targets and other sales metrics.
  • Increase the number of pointA clients by: developing sales strategies, drafting and delivering sales pitches and workplans, and develop relationships with new clients via cold calling/emailing and sales campaigns, and responding to sales inquiries.
  • Maintain our CRM system (we use Monday.com) and manage and refine pointA’s sales processes based on evidence base.


Business Development (20%):

  • Track and report on business development activities.
  • Conduct market research to identify and execute opportunities within new markets and/or industry segments to generate sales revenue.
  • Grant seeking: Identify new sources of grant funding and support the operations team as required on grant funding proposals.
  • Identify and pursue networking and speaking opportunities on behalf of the Executive Director and Associate Director.
  • Perform data analysis using customer and community feedback, census data, and other data sources to identify potential areas of growth.


Other (10%):

  • Translate sales and program materials from English to French.
  • When required, assist the programs team at outreach events.
  • Develop supplementary materials such as infographics, presentations, and training materials.
