What We Are Looking For

As a member of the interprofessional team, the Registered Nurse, Palliative and Complex Continuing Care, will work closely with the team in providing care to a complex medical, and palliative patient population. The RN will practice in an environment where our focus is patient/family centered care, customer satisfaction and ongoing professional development.

What You Bring To The Role

• Demonstrated commitment to a patient/family centred care environment
• Experience in IV Therapy and central lines is an asset
• Palliative Care courses preferred
• Recent experience in Oncology and Palliative Care
• Well developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently
• Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
• Demonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Minimum of 2 – 3 years related experience in a medical/surgical environment with evidence of well developed clinical skills.
• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses as an RN
• Current BCLS certification
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
• Evidence of ongoing professional development, continuing education and leadership experience
• Excellent physical assessment skills; completion of a physical assessment course will be considered a strong asset

Work Schedule

The successful candidate will be available to work 12 hour shifts days (0730 - 1930) and nights (1930-0730) including weekdays, weekend and holidays.

Compensation

Salary Grid: Band J:

$35.55 - $50.90 per hour

$69,322 - $99,255 per year
