Bubblegum Canada is looking for a Public Relations Consultant to grow with us as we take on new clients across the tourism, sustainability, consumer product and luxury goods industries.
A public relations consultant holds a junior position, learning from and working under the close supervision of senior staff. They are expected to have a solid understanding of the principles and practices of public relations, and be results-driven, as they will support tactical implementation on behalf of Bubblegum Canada’s clients.

Responsibilities
- Monitor and track all media mentions for Bubblegum clients, clip and file accordingly
- Performing some administrative duties
- Accompany designated spokespeople to secured interviews, as required
- Manage supplier relationships
- Ongoing monitoring and organization of contact database
- Media and influencer relations
- Administer the highest level of quality in all work
- Develop engaging and relevant social media content on behalf of clients and Bubblegum to support growth goals
- Attend client meetings with team and prepare first draft of client correspondence, memos etc.
- Assist in organizing and planning of media training sessions
- Compile and manage databases and media/influencer lists
- Work with and report directly to the Founding Partners to create and execute comprehensive, 360-degree communications plans
- Assist with the scheduling, organization and execution of client events
- Write, edit and circulate press releases, pitches, media kits, editorial and other communications materials
- Prepare accurate, thorough and timely publicity and post-mortem reports for internal and external audiences
Skills & Qualifications:
- Extremely organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with very tight deadlines
- Knowledge of the media/social media landscape throughout Canada
- Superior verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate in a clear, concise and compelling manner
- Ability to accept specific direction, with an outstanding work ethic
- Capable of demonstrating strong diplomatic and critical listening skills, as well as superior analytical and reasoning skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in media relations with proven understanding and successes
- Proactive self-starter with the ability to provide prompt follow-through on projects
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Later, Canva, as well as all social media platforms
- 1-3 years related work experience
- Instinct for interpersonal relationships and relationship-building
- Bilingual English/French an asset
- A natural problem solver
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, journalism or a public relations-related discipline
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, MuckRack and other media monitoring and tracking programs (i.e. Meltwater, MR2P, Infomart)
Other Notes:
- Office hours are Monday – Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM EST
- Some overtime may be required for off-hour client events
- Opportunity for in-person company events and brainstorms, pandemic-permitting.
- Employee will be expected to work remotely. Must have access to laptop or computer with working internet connection.
