About this opportunity:


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Delivery Talent Development, the Senior Project Delivery Advisor will apply the Cenovus Project Management Office (CPMO) Delivery Execution Framework, standards and processes to lead projects throughout the entire project execution.


As a Project Manager leading corporate projects, this role will be accountable to achieve the following outcomes:


  • Define project scope, objectives and results that support the business goals in collaboration with clients, teams and customers.
  • Partner with CPMO colleagues and the other enabling functions to ensure projects are being delivered in accordance with corporate standards and guidelines, within scope and budget.
  • Guide the work and performance of the project team members assigned to projects in their scope.
  • Track project achievements and results, ensuring corrective action is taken, when vital, to improve project performance.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines, workflow and achievements using the Cenovus Project Management Office (CPMO) Delivery Execution Framework, tools and processes.

Responsibilities:


  • Set and continually lead project expectations with team members and other partners, ensuring adherence to the project timeline.
  • Liaise with project team members on an ongoing basis through formal and informal channels.
  • Identify, report and resolve workplace or interpersonal barriers that may affect the team and its performance.
  • Fill the role of Project Manager on Cenovus corporate and IT projects
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of project team direct and indirect reports to ensure projects are completed accurately, on time and to the required quality assurance standards.
  • Track project performance, to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Handle changes to the project scope, project timeline and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Drive a successful team and support an employee-engaged culture.
  • Perform effective risk management to resolve issues/conflicts that may arise within the project team.
  • Identify, document, and communicate project risks/issues, and assist in resolution or mitigation.
  • Delegate project tasks based on staff members’ individual strengths, abilities and experience levels.


Qualifications:


  • Must be willing to work in the office in downtown Calgary, AB.
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10+ years of related experience in project management.
  • Proficiency with computer applications (MS Office).
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Working towards or completion of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • Experience with the Cenovus leadership and culture would be highly beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Minimum of 3+ years working in the oil & gas industry.
