Production Operator, Cobourg, ON


$1500.00 CAD sign-on bonus offered

This position’s pay range is $20.50 - $30.50 per hour!! 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights continental rotation).


****Automatic raise to $21.53 after 3 months****


What You’ll Do


  • Assists with larger production area cleaning tasks
  • Maintains general housekeeping of production areas
  • Responds to process alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinates timely confirmation and corrective actions to resolve conditions generating the alarms and interlocks
  • Communicates and confers with the Production Lead, as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality
  • Verifies basic product label information, such as dimensions, sheet counts, etc.
  • Operate the production lines, using centerline process information to maintain each product specification
  • Visually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately informs the Production Lead of any deviations or abnormalities
  • Inspects and packages final product, according to established procedures, standards and HSE regulations
  • Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment
  • Operate a forklift safely to move large pallets (empty & with product) throughout facility
  • Works in close coordination with the Production Lead to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production schedules across all processes
  • Performs troubleshooting in the event of process deviations
  • Operate a clamp truck safely to move large paper rolls from warehouse to production area
  • Assists production line operators with pallet changes, clean ups and start ups
  • Complete and report quality testing accurately
  • Reports all safety concerns immediately to Production Lead, HSE Lead or site Leadership team

  • Help to meet and exceed production, waste, and quality goals
  • Learn how to drive Tractor/Tanker unit
  • Participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements
  • Become Forklift Certified
  • Collaborate with management to meet the production and shipping schedule


To Be Successful, You Will Need


  • Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Be able to accurately read and use a tape measure
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend throughout a 12-hour shift
  • Must be ok with rotating 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights continental rotation)
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Forklift experience a plus; would need to become recertified on site
  • Good attention to detail required
  • Basic math skills required, including the basic use of a calculator
  • Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Analytical and mechanical mindset an asset
  • High School Diploma or GED required

We are currently seeking talent for a Production Operator job for our Cobourg, ON location. Reporting into the Production Lead, this position is a full-time role that will start in an entry position in our packaging department, but has multiple opportunities to cross-train in other production roles and rapidly advance in pay with our skill-based pay structure. Operators are responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing of impregnated surfaces at the site. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and Arclin’s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.
