WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Within the framework of the plant's objectives and yearly action plans which he/she helps define, the missions are:
- To co-ordinate and manage the production so as to make available on a day-to-day basis, the required product within the specified quality, cost and time
- To prepare forecasts and production budgets (yearly, monthly, adjustment)
- To ensure protection of environment in compliance with group standards within his field of activities
- To constantly aim at the best performances of the production equipment
- To contribute to the upkeep and availability of the plant equipment
- To ensure the safety and development of his personnel
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Contributes to maintaining equipment in good working condition by complying with the instructions of use and by regular monitoring of the equipment and by warning the maintenance department if need be.
- Team management: defines the Missions and objectives of his workforce and carries out their performance reviews, promote the quality of the work and motivate his personnel, develop their skills to keep abreast of technical developments.
- Plans technical shutdowns with other departments.
- Prepares and submit annual production budgets.
- Participates in drawing up safety rules.
- Puts forward annual and monthly production programs and adjust them as necessary.
- Based on the proposals of the optimization/process manager, defines together with him/her the actions to improve plant performance and quality of products
- Settles daily problems relating to production and team management.
- Defines working methods (optimisation of management means and tools).
- Co-ordinates the program of inspections, visits and repairs with the maintenance manager.
- Helps define the long-term plan, the Advance Performance Improvement Plan, improvement action plans for the whole plant.
- Organizes the manpower to best suit the program.

- Guarantees the compliance with the Group environment standards in his field of activities.
- Respects production commitments in terms of volume, deadlines, costs, product compliance.
- Ensures that there is a good atmosphere and coordination within his teams.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
- Experience in cement industry only
- Experience in the development of quality management methods
- Good knowledge of computer aided systems for kiln and mill operation
- Decision-making capacity / Self-confidence
- Development of others
- Fluency in French and English is a must
- Anticipation / Initiative
- Sense of organisation / Delegation
- Results orientation
- In-depth knowledge of production management and planning
- Degree in general engineering (with mechanical and electrical engineering as main subjects) with 5 to 10 years' experience depending on the size and challenges of the position
- Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes: raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, grinding (experience as a process engineer)
- Team leadership
- Good knowledge of product quality parameters and of quality control tests
- Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations
