Position Summary
The Bakery Manager is essential to the success of our Central Kitchen and Delis. This position provides oversight of the baked goods operations to ensure the efficient daily workflow of the production of high-quality baked items, from scratch, for our three store locations. This role will also be directly responsible for day-to-day staff supervision, development, training, and hiring. They will work with the Kitchen Manager to ensure that the kitchen is clean, stocked, and that our products and practices meet all quality, food safety and general safety requirements.
Specific areas of accountability include customer service, baked goods production, team leadership, operations, invoicing, quality control, safety, and sanitation.
This role requires strong supervisory, team building, communication, problem solving, intercultural competence, prioritization, and multitasking skills as well as adaptability, initiative, positivity, accountability, resiliency, judgment, and integrity.
Qualifications
  • Customer Service: experience providing prompt and respectful internal and external customer service 
  • High Volume Production: experience in high-volume baking, catering, and pastry production/finishing including oversight of quality and safety
  • Multi-tasking: ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in order to complete daily tasks effectively and efficiently
  • ServSafe Certification: current ServSafe certification or the ability to become certified within 3 months of hire
  • Basic math: ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division 
  • Communication: ability to effectively communicate with staff and customers in a responsive and caring manner 
  • Purchasing: experience ordering perishable product in a food service environment
  • Team Leadership: team lead or supervisory experience in a food service environment, including staff direction, coaching, and training 
  • Computer skills: ability to enter data accurately, send email, working knowledge of Office 365 
  • "Can-Do-Attitude": demonstrates a positive, adaptable, and flexible attitude with a strong commitment to being a team player
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Scratch Baking: experience scratch baking with natural foods 
  • Recipe Development: experience in recipe development 
  • Multilingual
Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Location: 740 East 7th Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106 
Schedule: 5am - 1pm: Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday. Shifts may vary, and can include day, evening, and holiday hours to meet department needs. Flexibility required.

Physical and Working Requirements:
This position requires frequent standing as well as walking, squatting, bending, reaching, stooping, pulling, fine motor manipulation, lifting of up to 50lbs, and the ability to move around our kitchen and storage rooms with or without reasonable accommodation.
