Valsoft Corporation is looking for a talented, versatile, and passionate Corporate Development Intern to join our M&A team!
The candidate will be responsible for conducting bottom-up research and analysis on acquisition targets, covering operational, financial, and industry aspects. The individual must be highly analytical and well-versed in financial statement analysis and have a natural curiosity and professional skepticism. Successful candidates should have some investment experience and a passion for capital allocation.

What your day will look like:
• Conducting industry research to support business development activities
• Identifying and qualifying prospects that fit our investment profile
• Identifying relevant research organizations, advisory groups, and trade conferences
• Supporting investment team on analytical tasks and projects (valuation, due diligence, etc.)
• Supporting the M&A team on other business development-related projects and other special projects as required
About you:
• In progress of completing a BComm in Finance and/or the CFA designation or other professional designation
• 0-2 years minimum experience in private equity, asset management, investment research, and/or capital markets setting
• Strong understanding of software business models and experience in analyzing technology companies as an asset
• Ability to create a working model using data provided by the target to discern the return potential of acquisitions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to carry high-level, professional
conversations with business owners and executives
• Experience in business development, prospecting, or data analysis roles
• Strong quantitative background and analytical skills
• Strong team-player
• Strong knowledge of Excel
