The Opportunity
TC Energy is seeking a Product Quality Specialist to work within the Liquids Commercial Product Quality team. The Product Quality Specialist works to measure, track, and report on the status of product within our operating liquids facilities. This role involves problem solving and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate must value working in a team environment and have a sense of pride and ownership of their work.
What you’ll do

• Provide Petroleum Quality support of new projects and optimize existing assets
• Lead investigations into multidisciplinary quality incidents to determine root cause and make recommendations to mitigate
• Data analytics and reporting
• Management of 3rd party laboratory testing
• Tariff management and enforcement
• New commodity review and approval and commodity property database management
• Liaise with customers, connected facilities and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of quality commitments and concerns of all parties
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior and intermediate measurement team members
• Collaborate with field staff to manage field gaugers labs

Minimum Qualifications

• Self-motivated, able to work and contribute to a team environment while independently managing multiple and competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer service mindset; follows through issues from start to finish
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment
• Demonstrates ability to liaise with all levels of the organization in various geographic locations
• 4+ years of related experience
• Desire to learn and take on new challenges
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in good-standing with APEGA
• Field or operations experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of American Petroleum Institute (API) MPMS
• Knowledge in the numerous chemical and physical processes that may impact crude quality in a way that risks its value or the integrity of the facilities transporting the crude
• Experience with data analytics and reporting tools, such as Power BI, SQL, Python etc
• Strong understanding of pipeline crude handling
• Strong understanding of crude oil chemistry and refining

This position requires candidates to:

• Have and maintain a valid driver's license
• Travel to other company locations ~ 1 week / month to consult with vendor facilities in Canada and the US. As such, the successful candidate will be required to provide applicable documentation to this effect
• Provide a driver's abstract for review
