We are currently seeking a QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER to manage our Quality Assurance activities in Canada. This position is located in our MX Manufacturing Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is innovative and where Operational Excellence and Safety are top priorities. You will be motivated by working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where building mutually beneficial relationships across all departments is key. You will possess the ability to prioritize & problem solve while leveraging business relationships to produce effective results.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role is responsible for managing the development, implementation, & maintenance of Quality Assurance (QA) processes that meet or exceed company and customer requirements while supporting our core values of Operational Excellence, Innovation, and Customer Intimacy.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Maintain API/ISO Quality Management certifications in all applicable Packers Plus locations
• Monitor and inform vendors of their quality performance trends and required corrective actions
• Ensure initiation of Corrective/Preventative actions to minimize the occurrence of non-conformities
• Report to Executive Management on the performance of the QMS and any requirements for improvement
• Accurate maintenance of quality records including QMS training
• Develop and implement any required Quality Control plans
• Ensure that processes required for the Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, and maintained
• Maximize output and efficiency

Experience And Skills

• Knowledge of Packers Plus processes (is an asset)
• Experience with implementing Quality Management Systems compliant to ISO 9001 and API Q1 Standards
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Experience implementing and managing processes
• 5-10 years’ management experience (preferably in Operations) in Oil & Gas Industry down-hole equipment manufacturing sector (International experience an asset)

Education and Training

• Post-secondary education in Business Management or Engineering an asset
• Course work in Quality Assurance, or equivalent experience an asset

Physical And Safety Requirements

• Subject to post-incident and reasonable-cause drug & alcohol testing
• Extended periods of sitting at a desk and use of a computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse
• Position is Safety Sensitive and subject to a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol testing
• Compliance with Packers Plus Health & Safety Program
