POSITION SUMMARY

The Procurement & Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing inventory levels, creating relationships and negotiating with vendors, and maintaining accurate records of all purchasing activities in order to provide support for production.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Communicate & collaborate inter departmentally where required.
  • Create and maintain the item list with various attributes to ensure correct information is used on the work orders.
  • Create and maintain bill of materials in Business Central with quality approvals.
  • Build and maintain Inventory valuation, Inventory aging reports for management review.
  • Manage vendor relations, provide forecasts to vendors on VMI contracts.
  • Manage green bean logistics with external warehouses on a day-to-day basis. Initiate purchase requests of green beans to the Senior VP upon hitting safety stock levels.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels
  • Calculate the raw material requirements using the Bill of Materials and forecasted sales for the period.
  • Plan, execute and manage purchase orders with vendors to ensure raw material availability according to the forecast.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Advanced Excel & Business Central user. Preferably had experience going through ERP implementation.
  • Ability to work well within a team and independently
  • Keen attention to detail and able to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform all inventory related transactions in Business Central or prior similar experience with other ERP systems.
  • Food industry experience is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Inventory & Procurement
  • Nice to have: SQL & Jet reports experience.
