The Opportunity:

We currently have a career opportunity for a Full-time, permanent Product and Inventory Specialist for our main warehouse, located in Barrie, Ontario. The Product and Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of purchasing and materials control and must possess an advanced product knowledge and motivation to stay apprised of industry trends through Motorola training courses and industry research.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Purchasing

·Reviews sales orders, determines inventory requirements, and orders inventory and supplies.

·Works with suppliers to maintain and negotiate pricing, as well as contract renewal negotiations.

·Tracks and controls all company purchases; this includes:

·Creating all Purchase Orders, including maintaining recurring POs for monthly services.

·Completing and submitting all VISA paperwork.

·Company asset tracking

·Organizes and maintains appropriate inventory of office supplies.

Inventory Management

·Ensures supplies and inventory are at reasonable levels including shop and tech vehicles.

·Maintains accurate inventory records, including receipt of inventory into company’s computer system and maintenance of obsolete part numbers.

·Conducts quarterly inventory checks and reconciles with General Ledger Inventory Account

·Performs annual inventory reconciliation and investigates any discrepancies.

·Runs the stock status report monthly and reviews for any issues, including product code and part number/description discrepancies.

·Prepares all orders for service or delivery.

·Ships sales orders to customers using the most effective method.

·Responsible for warehouse/stockroom organization and cleanliness, including space management and accurate labelling of shelving.

·Maintains an in-depth understanding of inventory management software and works to identify, propose, and implement improvements in inventory systems, reports, and processes.

Sales and Service Support

·Responsible for the completion of training modules to ensure advanced product knowledge and a conscious effort to stay current on upcoming product changes or trends.

·Provides pricing and availability for inventory and supplies.

·Reviews sales and technical spreadsheets for accurate pricing.

·Advises sales reps or customers on status, availability, and product descriptions.

·Communicates with service/scheduling department to ensure adequate inventory levels and complete order preparation.

·Manages and processes customer returns, re-delivery, and warranty claims.

·Provides backup support for Rentals Coordinator position duties for seamless coverage during absences.

Experience Requirements:

·A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a purchasing/receiving/inventory role.

·Experience with Motorola, Avigilon, and Cambium equipment will be considered an asset.

Additional Requirements:

·Great verbal and written communication skills

·Good customer service and interpersonal skills

·Proficient in computer skills

·Ability to prioritize, multitask, work within time constraints and follow-up

·Analytical and Problem-solving skills

·Detail-oriented

·Must live within 1 hour of Barrie, ON or be willing to relocate prior to commencing job

·Must pass a criminal record check

·Combination of warehouse floor work and computer work in various software programs
