Responsibilities
- You will be working 3 days a week on 12-hour shifts
- This position is posted for the weekend night shift
- Work with Project Engineering team to ensure adequate support is available for all projects
- Ensure Controls related work orders are scheduled and completed in a timely manner
- Support the reliability team with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving equipment issues
- Propose and develop projects that will increase reliability of the automation through controls
- Support, coach, and develop electricians with controls related troubleshooting efforts in the field
- Highlight concerns with equipment and projects to Project Engineers, Reliability team, and Technical Managers
- Develop sustainable practices for electricians to share information and speed up troubleshooting efforts
- Analyze production processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop control strategies to optimize efficiency, quality, and safety
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics
- Understanding of Industrial Ethernet networks on a large scale
- Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC’s and Siemens S7
- Attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality and reliable control system solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Solid understanding of motor control and VFD operations
- Experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, AS-i)
- Proficiency in Aveva Wonderware and Allen Bradley FactoryTalk View HMI Software
- Strong working knowledge of industrial control systems, process automation, instrumentation, and maintenance processes
- Understanding of server and network infrastructure to support IT/OT network and server room operations
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- University Degree or College Diploma in Electrical/Software/Process Engineering or a related field
- Demonstrated engagement and excellent attendance track record
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Controls and Automation role or maintenance/ process group.
- Previous controls or programming experience coupled with mechanical and electrical knowledge
