Process And Utilities Engineer

INVISTA (Canada) Nylon manufacturing site located in Kingston, Ontario has an immediate opening for a Process & Utilities Engineer as part of the Power Services Team.

Our Team

As part of the Power Services organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced industrial environment with an aim to improve and advance our technology and capability to make and deliver all the services required in the partnership to manufacture our end products.

What You Will Do

• Troubleshooting our manufacturing processes and applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies such as cause mapping.
• Provide technical and process support to and build capability within our Power Services operations section.
• Identifying and leading experiments and capital projects around digital transformation to improve site competitiveness.
• Identify, develop, and implement process improvements and optimizations targeting safety, reliability, quality yield, and energy.
• Preparing necessary cost/benefit estimates and justification for projects
• Using Advanced Process Control and Analytics to automate our processes.
• Participating in and leading Process Hazards Analyses (PHA)

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical / Mechatronics / Chemical / Automation / Industrial preferred)
• Experienced with process controls systems such DCS.
• Proven ability to self-manage and complete individual and team deliverables.
• A willingness to embrace and live the core values of Principle Based Management
• Proven ability to take initiative, be solution-oriented, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Led process or safety risk assessment processes such as PHA.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in automation and/or proven ability to create, design and implement creative and break-through ideas.
• Demonstrated application of statistics
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Previous manufacturing work experience
